SOX1 (for Sex determining region Y-box 1), located in 13q34, is a transcription factor in the Sox protein family. It means that this intronless gene encodes a member of the SOX (SRY-related HMG-box) family of transcription factors involved in the regulation of embryonic development and in the determination of the cell fate. The encoded protein may act as a transcriptional activator after forming a protein complex with other proteins. In mice, a similar protein regulates the gamma-crystallin genes and is essential for lens development. SOX1 expression is restricted to neuroectodermin the tetrapod embryo. It is expressed particularly in the ventral striatum.
Optimal dilution of the SOX1 antibody should be determined by the researcher.
Amino acids QHPGAGGAHPHAHPAHPHPHHPHAHPHNPQPMHR of human SOX1 were used as the immunogen for the SOX1 antibody.
After reconstitution, the SOX1 antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20oC. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
