Retinol binding protein 4 (RBP4), also known as RDCCAS, belongs to the lipocalin family and is the specific carrier for retinol (vitamin A alcohol) in the blood. It delivers retinol from the liver stores to the peripheral tissues. In plasma, the RBP-retinol complex interacts with transthyretin which prevents its loss by filtration through the kidney glomeruli. A deficiency of vitamin A blocks secretion of RBP4 posttranslationally and results in defective delivery and supply to the epidermal cells.
The stated application concentrations are suggested starting amounts. Titration of the RBP4 antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.
Human partial recombinant protein (AA 19-201) was used as the immunogen for this RBP4 antibody.
After reconstitution, the RBP4 antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20oC. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
