Fluorescent confocal image of HeLa cells stained with PDK4 antibody. For secondary Ab, Alexa Fluor 488 conjugated donkey anti-rabbit Ab (green) was used (1:1000, 1h). Nuclei were counterstained with Hoechst 33342 (blue) (10 ug/ml, 5 min). PDK4 is localized to the cytoplasm.

Description

PDK4 inhibits the mitochondrial pyruvate dehydrogenase complex by phosphorylation of the E1 alpha subunit, thus contributing to the regulation of glucose metabolism.

Application Notes

Titration of the PDK4 antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.

Immunogen

A portion of amino acids 382-410 from the human protein was used as the immunogen for this PDK4 antibody.

Storage

Aliquot the PDK4 antibody and store frozen at -20oC or colder. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
