Glutamate receptor 3 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the GRIA3 gene. This gene belongs to a family of alpha-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazole propionate (AMPA) receptors. It is mapped to Xq25. Glutamate receptors are the predominant excitatory neurotransmitter receptors in the mammalian brain and are activated in a variety of normal neurophysiologic processes. These receptors are heteromeric protein complexes with multiple subunits, each possessing transmembrane regions, and all arranged to form a ligand-gated ion channel. The classification of glutamate receptors is based on their activation by different pharmacologic agonists. In addition, GLUR3 has been shown to interact with GRIP1 and PICK1.
The stated application concentrations are suggested starting amounts. Titration of the GLUR3 antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.
An amino acid sequence from the middle region of human Glutamate receptor 3 (RKAGYWNEYERFVPFSDQQ) was used as the immunogen for this GLUR3 antibody (100% homologous in human, mouse and rat).
After reconstitution, the GLUR3 antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20oC. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
